Lisa and I saw Trans-Siberian Orchestra
back in Jacksonville in 2010, but we could only stay for the first half of the
show because we had to get home for the baby-sitter. You will never see another
“baby-sitter” appearance on the blog because this was the only evening ever
that we had someone watch the kids while we went out. I take that back, grandma
watched the Kellisa and Egypt while they slept once so Lisa and I could see a
midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
The Golden 1 Center never disappoints its
handling of attendees in wheelchairs. They have a dedicated side VIP entrance
for the suites where we enter and take an elevator up to whatever level we
need. We follow the signs to our section, and someone always helps us find our
exact spot and will make sure we are settled before leaving us.
The Golden 1 Center has an open area for wheelchairs,
and they provide three very comfortable chairs so we can sit with Kellisa. There
is always plenty of room and we always have a great view of the stage.
Even though the girls (and Lisa and I)
only knew a few songs, we all enjoyed the show. The massive lights, lasers, and
pyro only added to the overall sensational concert experience.
I go back to the “The Dungeons are Calling”
days and I am always a little amused and sad to think Savatage would probably have trouble selling
out a 300-capacity club in Sacramento but change a few things around, add the
theme of Christmas and they sell out two shows at the biggest concert venue in
the region. IYKYK
