Egypt's Path (2010 to 2020) - Part XIII

March 2013

Being born and growing up in Florida meant that Egypt’s winters weren’t full of cold and snow. Most Floridians are happy about this fact, but not Egypt. She wanted to see and play in snow so bad, that I booked a trip to the northern reaches of the Midwest so Egypt could really experience “winter”.

Egypt could barely contain her excitement as we traveled to Minneapolis. She never moved so fast through an airport and as soon as Egypt saw a door to the outside, she took off running. Before I knew it, she was around a corner and in the middle of a pile of snow with the biggest smile her little face could make. The snow and cold was everything and more than she anticipated.

Egypt's excitement for snow is unmistakable. Whether she is experiencing freshly fallen snow for the first time each winter or returning to familiar snowy landscapes, her expressions consistently show genuine joy and wonder. The pictures capture a young girl who doesn't simply tolerate cold weather—she embraces it.

Throughout the collection, Egypt is always eager to bundle up in colorful winter clothing before heading outside to explore. She happily plays in the snow, tosses snowballs, slides down snowy hills, and leaves footprints wherever she goes. Even when surrounded by deep snow or chilly mountain weather, she is energized rather than discouraged, treating every snowfall as another opportunity for adventure.

The photos also highlight how snow became a family experience. Many images show shared winter outings that combine play, sightseeing, and exploration, creating lasting memories in beautiful mountain settings. Egypt's wide smiles, animated poses, and willingness to stay outside despite the cold reflect a child who found excitement in every snowy destination.

Taken together, the images capture Egypt as a spirited and adventurous young girl whose love for the outdoors extend to every season. Snow wasn't an obstacle—it was another playground waiting to be explored. Her enthusiasm for winter adventures complements the adventurous personality seen throughout the rest of her childhood, showing that whether hiking trails, traveling, or simply playing in fresh powder, Egypt approached each snowy day with curiosity, energy, and a contagious sense of fun.
