Long Weekend in New England

June 2009

New States for Kellisa:

New Hampshire
Vermont
Massachusetts
Connecticut
Rhode Island

Highpoints:

Mount Washington (NH)
Mount Greylock (MA)
Jerimoth Hill (RI)

Our first objective for this trip was the top of Massachusetts. We had two options to reach the summit, an auto road and a cog railroad. Since Kellisa loves trains, the decision was an easy one. Kellisa (Right) wheeling around with Mount Washington in the background as we wait for the cog railroad.

As high as wheels can go:

I had to carry Kellisa up the final rocks to reach the true summit:

In front of the weather statistics:

All the known deaths in the area as a reminder to visitors to stay safe:

It was too cold to camp, so we stayed in this nice little cabin:

We ended our trip with a day spent walking and wheeling on Block Island:

  1. Hey, very nice site. I came across this on Google, and I am stoked that I did. I will definitely be coming back here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table, but am just taking in as much info as I can at the moment. Thanks for sharing.
